KAFTAN - LA MER (TURKISH DELIGHTS)

What to say when Fancy Restaurants open up at La Mer there is always the soothing effect of Dining. One such Restaurant is Kaftan situated next to the Beach Views and Breezy Weather one cannot go wrong with Dining inside. Kaftan is a Belted Long Tunic worn by the Men and Women alike during Ottoman times. Keeping with that tradition interiors had Kaftan arts and pictures. Theres a Long seating Made of Marble Dining table with one end of Olive Tree and below it Mini Kaftan Statue, one of my favourite spot in Kaftan. Spacious, Bright and Prestiogious culture revolving around the restaurant, definitely can be mistaken to be in Turkey (psst, after dining here I just want to go to Turkey 🤩🤩🤩) Hospitality can be given 10/10 because just did not feel was in a Restaurant but at Home. Lets talk about the Food. Since gone for Breakfast Cum Lunch the list will be endless. Seated were served with Turkish tea, personally this is my favourite, brewing is done perfectly. BREAKFAST

Humus Bayildi - On a bed of fresh humus with Basil, tomatoes and Pine Nuts Salsa laid the Sunny side-up Egg . Egg were the yolk was oozy and runny while the white was cooked perfectly. Pine nuts salsa combo made the whole Egg so enriched with flavours and to kick in spicy roasted whole chilli. Firin Peynir Kizartma - Home-made baguette slices topped with eggs, parsley batter and lots of cheese. Very soft and easy to chew baguette yet gooey cheesy. Pacanga Boregi - Triangle shaped flaky medium samosa filled with beef pastrami, cheddar cheese, tomatoes, parsley and capsicum. One of the best samosa filling and soothing to taste buds. Sef’in Simit’i - Simit bread is very famous breakfast bread topped with seasme seeds and circular shape and hollow in between. Here the Simit was given with enriched filling in the hollow area. Filling had sunny side-up egg along with 100% turkish beef soujouk and lots of gooey cheddar cheese. 2nd favourite in the breakfast section.

LUNCH

DRINKS

Started off with Turkish Mocktail called Demirhindi. Serbeti. Tamarind juice, quintessentially Ottoman recipe, made from 41 different spices and herbs. Trust me very very Refreshing Drink. HOT MEZZE

Etli Hummus - On a bed of Hummus laid the lamb meat and pine nuts. All time favourite Hummus of mine. Icli Kofte - Bulgur Rice patties filled with minced meat and walnuts coated with crushed pistachio. First time trying kofta made out if Bulgur wheat had the dietary fibre taste and also good heart health. Sigara Boregi - Crispy turkish cheese rolls stuffed with Turkish cheese and chopped parsley. Gave a totally spring rolls filled with cheese. Good snack bites. Kalamar Kizartma - Deep fried Calamari rings served with tomato sauce. Crispy and lip-smacking Calamari. Sucuk Izgara - Char-grilled 100% turkish beef Soujouk. Definitely had the Sausage taste in a good beefy way. Peynir Kizartma - Cheesy snacks where the Brie cheese pan fried topped with home-made blackberry Sauce. Yes one bite it had very sweety effect but was not possible that there was cheese coated with flour and deep fried. Loved this 👍🏻👍🏻 Hot mezze was all served in small qunatities to get the taste of authentic turkish starters. MAIN COURSE Sultan Ibrahim - Oh Boy, this was Humongous Ibrahimis were deep fried and served on a bed of all the veggies roasted. Corn on the cob, roasted potato wedges, whole onion roasted, cauliflower roasted, baby potatoes roasted and Aubergine roasted inclusive on the bed of Red Mayonnaise. Eye-catcher fish menu and Healthy Combo. Tuz Furinda Kuzu Incik - Show-stopper Dish of the Day. Live demo wherein lamb shank was baked in a salt crust with fire all burning around. Basically to break open the salt crust requires a hammer and culinary tool Tong to pick the tender lamb. Served with these were the Eggplant puree. Puree tasted so much like Hareesa, boiled ground-wheat mixed with meat or poultry, but i loved this a lot. Eggplant puree is something i am going to try out for my Ramadan Iftar Recipe. Dish was soo tender, soft and melted into the mouth. DESSERT Helva - Turkish Semolina sauteed in organic butter infused by roasted pine nuts topped with organic Turkish Ice-Cream and lots and lots of crushed pistachios. Nutty helva was soft and melted into the mouth. Light and greenish in color looked so earthy. Antolian Dishes captured from the Ottoman times are so healthy, dietary conscious and organic fresh ingredients infused. Each dish could be eaten by atleast 3 or 4 people, tells a lot about sharing the food in Quantitative form. Kids are also pampered with their favourite fresh juices and sweet freshly baked brown buns all drizzled with Honey and lots and lots of Almonds. Observed that none of the dishes are ever plain there is always room for nuts ingredients, which by the way i loved in all my dishes. After so many years had lot of pine nuts. Pine nuts are known for suppressing diets, boost energy, Reduce Heart Disease, Anti-Aging Antioxidants and Vision Health. An Eye-Opener for me that other than Pide/Pizzas Turkish Cuisine extends to a variety of menus that are SUPER DUPER LIP-SMACKING, MOUTH-WATERING AND YUMMYLICIOUS. Breakfast Menu are to go for. Such a Hearty Breakfast i have never Had For A While. Best part was I HATE EGGS but the ingredients used to combine with the Egg were so over-powering literally i forgot was having Eggs. Special THANKS to Arzu who took total care in making sure all the dishes were served on the table on time and Her Hospitality had no Boundaries. 💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝
